Release notes 11/10/2023

Another update of the CYS software has just been released, focussing specifically on introducing a new export option, and several improvements within the Reports module. We are happy to share the details on the improvements, features and bug fixes that are now available:

Database exports

  • When exporting data from the project database, you now have the option to export data in SPSS format (.sav) as well. You can find this option within the Actions menu of your databases.

Reports module

  • It is now possible to use a new Action for ‘Skip report’. Based on a certain condition, for example the number of new records in a period, you can decide if a report should be created or not. This way you can ensure that recipients only get reports if there is (enough) data available in that period.
  • An additional check is introduced when generating large batches of reports at once. Whenever a certain report is not successfully completed within the batch, the system will identify this and restart the report again, without any manual intervention.
  • If stacked bars get filtered, and are showing very low numbers, this could result in issues with color assignments on values, or round-off issues for the percentual values. Both these issues are now resolved.
  • Within stacked bars, it is now possible to generate the total N either per category or per series, where before this was only possible per category.
  • It is now possible to add a symbol to a value within tables, for example a percentage sign.
  • Reports are in most cases generated per breakdown value. For overall reports, that usually do not apply this breakdown value, this could in specific scenarios result in a missing data labels in tables or charts. This specific scenario is now resolved.
  • For individual reports, the respondent id is automatically used as the breakdown value to identify reports on. It is now possible to add one or more columns of your dataset, that are included in the report overview lists as search variables. This is to ensure that there is recognizable data available to quickly locate your report.
  • For individual reports, it is now possible to select a text column in your database where the link to the report of that record is stored. This means you can now apply that information in dashboarding as well, for example in data grids or follow up widgets. When clicking the link, the report is opened in a separate tab, where you can view or download it. As a safety, you can only open the report within the dashboard when it is actually published to your user account.
  • There is a new alter text option added that generates the end date of the data on which the report is generated. This is specifically useful when generating reports on historical data by choosing your own manual end date when creating the report.
  • When adding multiple calculation values into a single datapoint, they are now in all cases generated in the order in which they are added to the datapoint. Because of this, you are now able to decide a fixed order for your data to be presented in.
