What is a Guru account

The structure of users within the cx.management software knows 3 different types of users:

Administrator – the users that can create and modify projects, data and dashboards and manage users

Collaborator – the users that have only viewing rights of blogs and dashboards that are published to them as well as enter audits and forms that they have gotten access to.

Guru – a user that has access to a specific set of features, often more IT related for those users that are at least a bit familiar with coding and are not afraid of complex business rules and reporting structure.

Guru functionalities

The default Guru user has the same access rights as the Administrator does. In addition to the administrator, though, a Guru has a couple of more functionalities (s)he can access in different areas of the software.

DRE:

Expert Rules

A Guru user can use JavaScript to create his or her own expert rules. These expert rules will grant even more flexibility in the DRE than is already possible by means of Wizard rules.

Vlookup

A Guru can make use of the VLookup functionality within the Database DRE Creation and Mutation rules. A VLookup makes it possible to add more background variables to a record based on similar entries in a key column.

*Event based rules

A Guru user can make use of Event based rules. These are rules that are not triggered by either imports or updates made to a record by a respondent, but run one time or periodically, based on the conditions that you set up within them.

Database:

Labelled data

Guru users can assign the labelled data type to definitions and manage the labelled data codebook. Since this feature is closely knit together with the FollowUp Widget in your dashboard and autofilled datafields in your open link scheduler, these options automatically will become available to you as well.

API Key management

A Guru user can generate a Key that provides you with a means to have a connector link with a certain part of our software. Be it for data extractions, importing data or narrowcasting your dashboard results, your Guru user can now give you access.

Dashboard:

Account based filtering

IF you would like each account to have classified access to their own private little portion of data in the dashboard, you will need to make use of account based filters. Other than dashboard filters or widget filters, ABF’s are filters that can be set up on user accounts separately, adding another level of security to your data. Guru Users have the ability to set these up.

Code tab of infographics

In our infographic store we have a wide variety of ready made infographics for you to utilize in your dashboard. However, if you like to make some adjustments to them, or if you want to build and implement one from scratch, you need to be able to access the code tab of the infographic widget.

Since a fair deal of knowledge regarding programming is required for these features, we advise to appoint the Guru user to a person with the required skills to utilize them.

Putting limitations on a Guru account

Even though a Guru has more functionalities at his or her disposal, the Admin remains the lead account in the portal. A Guru user, may, for instance only manage expert rules within a certain project, or only work in the database, but not have access to the user management section.

To safeguard the hierarchy within your company and within the software, an Administrator can always overrule a Guru account by creating a modified, custom Guru account with access to specific functionalities or projects.
